Healeo Juice Bar

I found a new favorite place this weekend! Healeo Organic Superfood & Nutrition Bar is about a 10 minute walk from my apartment and I am pretty sure I'll be making frequent trips during weekends! This place has a billion different supplements to chose from as well as organic coffee and teas, but I was more interested in the smoothie/juice bar. They also serve homemade vegan ice cream and snacks.
The juice and smoothie bar included all fresh, organic ingredients and was made to order. I went back and forth between the Green juice (kale, spinach, celery, green apple..maybe a couple other items) and a coconut almond smoothie (coconut juice, almonds, dates, almond extract and stevia). I ended up going with the smoothie and I was very happy with my choice!

The smoothie was light and refreshing with bits of almond and dates. The little date hunks were so delicious! The service was really great and the staff was very friendly. I sat at a table and read a book until I finished my drink. They also have free wifi and one whole side of the place opens up in the summer and they put tables out on the side walk. I can't wait for the nice weather so I can hang out there to read and try all their different drinks!

On a separate note, yesterday was a rest day and I decided to eat vegetarian all day and was surprisingly satisfied with each meal. All the pics are still on my camera, so I will have to post my menu later this week:) I already got my workout in for today...6am spin class. I felt really good in class today, I think the rest yesterday helped (note...take more rest days!) I stopped at the Essential Baking Company - Madison Cafe on the way home and picked up a couple coffees quiche Lorraine for the boy and a cranberry almond muffin to split.

I'm saving my muffin for the and afternoon snack because I was craving oats and made a huge bowl that may have been my best work yet! I cooked 1/3 cup of outs and 2/3 cup of water/milk mixture with half a banana, a dash of vanilla and a little sea salt. I topped it with 2 tsp of chia seeds, 2 tsp shredded coconut and a drizzle of coconut butter. It was fantastic. This was my first time trying chia seeds and coconut butter...so tasty and creamy and delicious!

The rest of my day involves salad and crackers for lunch and a small orange, pineapple chobani and half the muffin throughout the afternoon. I plan on a little strength training after work and then we are going out for sushi tonight and I'm really looking forward to that!

What's your favorite juice combo? Do you have a place like Healeo where you live?

  1. The smoothie sounds right up my alley! Sadly we don't have a juice bar like this in B-town. But the place sounds super cute and a great place to hang out.

I have not heard of coconut butter sbut it sounds very interesting. And way to go on the morning spin class! Yeah yeah!
